Redbud tree
Cercis canadensis
Eastern redbud offers an early spring nectar and pollen source for honeybees when forage is limited, with peak bloom in April supporting colony buildup. Bees actively forage on the pink-purple flowers before leaves emerge. As an understory tree, it may require deer protection in rural apiary settings.
