Beehiveful ("Beehiveful," "we," "us," or "our") operates Beehiveful.com and the Beehiveful applications, tools, content, and related services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have when you use those services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information, such as your name, email address, username, password, and profile details.
- Apiary, hive, inspection, notes, settings, and location information you choose to enter.
- Community posts, replies, mentor profile details, messages, uploads, and other content you submit.
- Support requests, feedback, and communications you send to us.
- Newsletter, notification, or marketing preferences you choose to set.
Information collected automatically
- Log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, and timestamps.
- Usage and diagnostic information about how you interact with Beehiveful features.
- Cookie, session, and similar technology data used to keep you signed in, remember settings, improve security, and understand site usage.
- Approximate or precise location data if you choose to provide a ZIP code or grant browser geolocation access.
- An approximate location derived from your IP address — used only to pick a reasonable starting forecast ZIP code on your first visit, before you save a location of your own. The IP-to-location data is sourced from DB-IP and looked up locally on our servers; no IP geolocation request is sent to a third party for this.
Information from third parties
- Analytics providers.
- Authentication, hosting, infrastructure, and email-delivery providers.
- Weather, geolocation, and similar data providers used to generate Beehiveful features.
- AI and model-service providers used to generate advisory, chat, and similar outputs.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Beehiveful.
- Create and manage user accounts.
- Generate forecasts, advisory content, and AI-assisted responses.
- Personalize content based on location, hive, apiary, and user settings.
- Moderate community content and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Send transactional emails, alerts, account notices, and service messages.
- Respond to support, legal, and technical requests.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and other harmful activity.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, users, and services.
Authorized Beehiveful personnel may review account content — including apiary, hive, and inspection records, community posts, and support correspondence — for debugging, support, quality assurance, abuse investigation, and product improvement. Access is limited to employees and contractors with a legitimate business need, is subject to confidentiality obligations, and is logged internally.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies in two categories:
- Essential. Required to keep you signed in, remember your location and preferences, protect forms from abuse, and deliver core functionality. These always run.
- Analytics & advertising (optional). Only after Accept all, we load Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Google Ads and Google Tag Manager, Reddit Pixel, and our hosted Umami analytics. Meta, Google and Reddit measure advertising visits and conversions; Umami measures site usage. Google Tag Manager manages configured tags; it is not a separate consent choice or a way around this consent gate. These tools can receive page URLs, referring pages, browser/device and network information, advertising identifiers and events such as page views, signups and purchases (including purchase value and currency).
After consent, the Reddit server conversion integration can match signups and purchases using SHA-256 hashes of email, account ID and IP address, plus un-hashed browser user-agent and Reddit ad click ID. Hashing is a matching measure, not anonymity. Server ad conversions require consent from the current browser session; background jobs and payment webhooks without that session do not qualify. This policy does not guarantee delivery of any particular conversion event.
The consent banner offers Accept all and Reject
everywhere, including the United States. No choice means no optional tracking.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) overrides prior acceptance.
You can change your mind at any time: use Your Privacy Choices
in the footer and choose Reject to withdraw consent. This reloads the current page to stop loaded trackers and
keeps them off on later pages. Withdrawal does not undo data already sent.
Consent is kept in the signed site session, with a browser-local rejection
marker (bh.consent.v3); old browser-only acceptance does not count.
With JavaScript disabled, optional tracking scripts and fallback pixels do not run.
Essential sessions, form security, hosting and abuse protection remain on. Cloudflare provides hosting-edge security and Turnstile abuse protection; these are separate from optional Cloudflare Web Analytics. Our application blocks the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon with its Content Security Policy. Browser cookie controls may affect sign-in and other core features.
4. When We Share Information
We may share information:
- With service providers and vendors that help us operate the platform, such as hosting, infrastructure, analytics, email, support, AI, and data-processing providers.
- With other users when you choose to publish content in community or profile features.
- When required by law, legal process, or governmental request.
- To enforce our agreements, investigate security issues, or protect rights, safety, and property.
- In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
- With your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. AI-Generated Features
Beehiveful may use third-party AI and machine-learning services to generate chat responses, recommendations, forecasts, summaries, or other content. Inputs you submit to AI-powered features may be processed by those providers to produce outputs for your use. AI-generated content can be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated and should be reviewed by you before relying on it.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain legitimate business records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect the security and integrity of the platform. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and why it was collected.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, update, or delete certain personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
- Request a copy of certain information you provided to us.
- Opt out of marketing communications.
If you want your account or personal data deleted, email us and request deletion. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request, and we may keep limited information where required by law, for security reasons, or to enforce our agreements.
9. Children's Privacy
Beehiveful is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization where required. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in violation of applicable law, contact us and we will review the matter.
10. International Users
Beehiveful may be operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
Beehiveful may contain links to or integrations with third-party sites, products, and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties, and their terms and policies will govern their services.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date, post the revised version on the site, or provide additional notice where appropriate.
