Account Deletion
You can delete your Beehiveful account and associated data at any time, whether you signed up through the website or the mobile app.
How to delete your account
Easiest path — do it yourself: Log in and go to Profile → Delete account. Confirm by typing your email and click Delete my account. The deletion is immediate; we send a confirmation email and sign you out of every device.
If you can't access your account: Email support@beehiveful.com from the address on your account, with the subject line Account deletion request. We will:
- Verify that the request is coming from the account's registered email address.
- Process the deletion within 14 days.
- Send you a confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
30-day grace window
Whether you delete in-app or via email, your data enters a 30-day "grace window" before permanent removal. If you change your mind in those 30 days, just log back in normally — the deletion reverses automatically. After 30 days the data is permanently and irreversibly purged.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account we remove, permanently and irreversibly:
- Your profile (name, email, password hash, location, notification preferences).
- Your apiaries, hives, box configurations, queens, and inspection records.
- Any hive photos you uploaded.
- Your BeeAI conversation history.
- Push-notification tokens registered from any device.
- Email verification tokens and password reset tokens.
- Your cells-earned ledger and any referral/invite rows you created.
What we retain
A small amount of information is kept after account deletion for legitimate legal, accounting, and abuse-prevention reasons:
- Community posts and replies you wrote stay visible but are anonymized — your name and profile link are removed so the post reads as "Former Beehiveful member". This prevents threads that others contributed to from collapsing when one participant leaves. If you want specific posts fully removed, list them in your deletion email and we'll delete those before anonymizing the rest.
- Financial records required by our payment processor (Stripe) for tax, refund, and fraud-dispute purposes. These are retained for the period required by applicable law, typically seven years, and are not used for product purposes.
- Security / abuse logs (IP address + timestamp of recent actions) are retained for up to 90 days to investigate incidents.
While you wait
If you would like to stop using Beehiveful before your deletion is processed, you can log in and:
- Cancel any active subscription from the Profile page or the Stripe billing portal (your Pro access will end at the current period end).
- Archive individual hives from their detail page so they no longer appear on your dashboard.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
Mobile app users
The same process applies if you signed up through the Beehiveful Android or iOS app. You do not need to have the app installed to request deletion — the email to support@beehiveful.com is enough.
