Littleleaf Linden

Tilia cordata
In the United States: Introduced · also called small-leaved linden

Honeybees visit littleleaf linden flowers intensively for their rich nectar and pollen supplies, often yielding a light, delicately flavored monofloral honey during the bloom period. Peak flowering occurs over 2-3 weeks in early summer, providing a valuable nectar flow when many other plants are not blooming. The tree prefers fertile, moist soils and can be prone to aphid infestations, which produce honeydew that bees may collect as an additional resource.
