Bidens pilosa

Honeybees primarily visit Bidens pilosa for its abundant, bright orange pollen, though the nectar contains mild toxins that bees can tolerate with the aid of their gut microbiome. It provides a prolonged foraging opportunity with continuous blooming from late spring through autumn in temperate climates. As a fast-growing annual, it self-seeds aggressively in disturbed soils and may require control to prevent it from becoming overly dominant in managed landscapes.
