Woolly Plantain

Plantago patagonica
In the United States: Native · also called Pursh's plantain, woolly Indianwheat

Honey bees visit the inconspicuous wind-pollinated flowers primarily for pollen, which serves as a supplementary source during gaps in more nutritious flows. Bloom occurs from early spring through midsummer on short spikes in dry open habitats. As a low-growing annual, it requires no management but reseeds readily in suitable disturbed or grassland sites.
