Wiregrass

Aristida stricta
In the United States: Native · also called pineland threeawn, pineland three-awn grass, Carolina wiregrass

Wiregrass is a perennial bunchgrass primarily wind-pollinated, offering little to no nectar or pollen reward to honeybees. Bees may incidentally visit the inconspicuous flowers but it contributes negligibly to forage. It flowers in late summer, often stimulated by fire, and provides structural habitat rather than floral resources.
