Bees visit for nectar and pollen during late summer to fall bloom, providing valuable late-season forage when other sources decline. It grows in dry open woods, sandy or clay soils, rocky slopes, and disturbed areas, tolerating drought once established. The only eastern North American goldenrod with white ray florets.
