Tupelo Gum
Tupelo gum provides exceptional nectar for honeybees, yielding the prized monofloral tupelo honey known for its light color and buttery flavor. Bees also collect significant pollen from its small greenish-white flowers during peak bloom in April-May. As a wetland tree, it requires moist to wet soils, making it ideal for beekeepers with access to swampy or floodplain sites but challenging in drier landscapes.
