Dioecious tree or shrub producing small fragrant white flowers that provide a good nectar source for honeybees, contributing to honey flows in its range. Peak bloom occurs in early to mid-spring on new growth. Drought-tolerant once established and slow-growing, with little need for pruning beyond removing dead wood.
