Texas Broomweed

Annual forb in the aster family producing numerous small yellow flower heads in late summer and fall that supply nectar and pollen to honey bees. Serves as a fall resource supporting colony buildup of winter stores, with honey reported as dark amber with strong flavor in historical accounts. Grows in prairies, disturbed sites, and open areas with resin-coated foliage.
