Swamp Milkweed

Asclepias incarnata
In the United States: Native · also called swamp milkweed, rose milkweed

Honeybees are drawn to swamp milkweed for its abundant nectar, especially during peak bloom from July to August, offering a reliable late-summer resource when other flowers may fade. The pollen, packaged in pollinia, is largely inaccessible to bees, making nectar the primary reward. It prefers consistently moist soils and full to partial sun; while not invasive, it can self-seed in wet areas and may require division to control spread.
