Smooth Woodmint

Blephilia subnuda
In the United States: Native · also called smooth woodmint, cumberland woodmint

Honeybees and other long-tongued bees visit for nectar and high-protein pollen; peak bloom in June provides early summer forage in its limited range. Grows in easy-to-manage perennial clumps 1-3 feet tall, preferring moist calcareous soils in partial shade to shade. Critically imperiled in the wild, so propagation supports local pollinator habitats without invasiveness concerns.
