Sand Cherry
Honeybees forage on its early spring flowers for nectar and pollen during a critical period when few other sources are available. Peak bloom occurs in April to May, providing a boost to emerging colonies. As a suckering shrub, it can form dense thickets useful for windbreaks but may require management to prevent unwanted spread.
