Salal
Honeybees primarily visit salal for nectar during its spring bloom, peaking in May in coastal regions, providing an early-season resource in shaded woodlands. As an evergreen shrub, it offers reliable foraging but forms dense thickets in disturbed areas that may need control to avoid invasiveness. Pollen is accessible but less frequently collected by honeybees than by bumblebees.
