Late-summer to fall-blooming perennial subshrub in the aster family that provides forage for bees in arid and semi-arid habitats. Flowers consist of numerous small yellow discoid heads in dense clusters; supports foragers in full sun on well-drained, often alkaline or saline soils. Drought-tolerant once established with a woody base.
