Missouri Ironweed
Late-summer to early-fall blooming perennial in the Asteraceae family that provides nectar and pollen to honeybees and other long-tongued bees during a period of declining forage. Dense clusters of magenta-purple flowers attract foragers on sturdy, upright stems. Prefers moist to average soils in full sun and is generally low-maintenance with no widespread staking or browsing issues.
