Indian heliotrope
Annual herb producing small violet or purple flowers in one-sided coiled spikes that provide minor nectar rewards primarily to butterflies rather than honey bees. Bloom period is prolonged in warm disturbed sites with repeated flushes possible. Contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
