Honeysuckle
Lonicera japonica
Honeybees primarily collect pollen from the tubular flowers of Japanese honeysuckle, with nectar less accessible due to the long corollas; peak bloom is late spring through early summer, offering early forage. However, it is aggressively invasive in much of the eastern US, smothering native vegetation—beekeepers should prioritize control outside bloom periods and plant non-invasive natives instead.
