Himalayan Blackberry

Rubus armeniacus
In the United States: Invasive · also called himalayan blackberry, armenian blackberry
Listed as invasive. Check local regulations — several jurisdictions restrict planting.

Honeybees visit Himalayan blackberry for its abundant nectar and pollen, making it a valuable early summer forage source that can support significant honey production in invaded areas. Bloom peaks in June, providing a reliable flow when many other plants are not yet flowering. As an aggressive invasive species in North America, it forms impenetrable thickets that displace natives, so beekeepers are encouraged to promote control efforts and plant native Rubus species instead.
