Golden Alexanders
Zizia aurea
Golden Alexanders offers early-season nectar and abundant pollen to honeybees and other pollinators when few other flowers are blooming, supporting colony buildup in spring. Peak bloom occurs in May to June, providing a reliable source during this critical period. As a short-lived perennial, it may require occasional reseeding to maintain populations, but it thrives in moist soils without becoming invasive.
