Douglas' spiraea supplies medium nectar and pollen to honeybees from its dense pink spire-like flower clusters in mid to late summer. Bees forage actively on the shrub in moist sites during peak bloom June through September. It spreads readily by root suckers and may form dense thickets requiring periodic control.
