Tall herbaceous perennial with yellow composite flowers that provide nectar and pollen to honey bees and other bees from midsummer into fall. Attracts a range of bee species including bumble bees; hollow stems may be used for nesting by some solitary bees. Self-seeds readily and forms colonies in moist to wet soils.
