Chokecherry
Prunus virginiana
Chokecherry offers high-value nectar and pollen for honeybees in early spring, with peak bloom from April to May, helping build up colonies after winter. Bees forage heavily on the white racemes, which can support surplus honey in suitable conditions. It suckers to form thickets, requiring occasional management to control spread, but poses no toxicity risks to bees.
