Catalpa
Catalpa speciosa
Honeybees visit Catalpa speciosa primarily for its abundant pollen from large, white flowers and moderate nectar, with peak bloom in late spring to early summer supporting colony buildup. The tree's extrafloral nectaries on leaves provide additional nectar throughout the season, drawing foragers even outside bloom time. As a fast-growing but short-lived tree, it requires ample space and produces copious seed pods that can be messy, though it is not invasive.
