California Wild Buckwheat

Buckwheats provide abundant nectar and pollen for honey bees and native bees, with flowers visited over an extended period in dry, well-drained sites. Bloom often peaks in summer and continues into fall as heads age and change color. Plants are drought-tolerant shrubs or subshrubs suited to poor soils with minimal management needs.
