Bog Laurel

Kalmia polifolia
In the United States: Native · also called Swamp Laurel, Pale Laurel

Honeybees visit bog laurel primarily for pollen, though the nectar contains grayanotoxins that can produce toxic honey and harm bees. Peak bloom occurs in late spring with clusters of pink flowers on low evergreen shrubs. It thrives in consistently moist, acidic boggy soils and may require protection from drying out in cultivation.
