Bloodroot
Bloodroot provides valuable early-spring pollen for honeybees, supporting brood rearing when few other flowers are available, but offers no nectar. Peak bloom hits in March to April, with flowers lasting about two weeks. It prefers partial to full shade in moist, humusy soils and spreads slowly by rhizomes without becoming invasive.
