Medicago lupulina
In the United States: Naturalized · also called black medick, hop clover, yellow trefoil

A low-growing legume whose small yellow flowers provide nectar and pollen to honeybees and other bees throughout the growing season. It fixes nitrogen in the soil and thrives in disturbed, sunny sites; individual plants cease blooming once seed set begins but successive flushes extend the resource window.
