Awnless Bush Sunflower

A semi-woody perennial forb or subshrub with yellow daisy-like flowers that bloom over an extended period from spring through fall, providing nectar and pollen to honeybees and other pollinators. It grows from a large woody taproot in well-drained rocky or limestone soils and tolerates drought once established. Often scraggly in habit but reliable for continuous forage in suitable conditions.
