Varroa Mite

Symptoms

Reddish-brown disc-shaped mites on bees, deformed wings on emerging bees, scattered brood.

Treatment

Oxalic acid vapor during broodless periods. Formic Pro through capped brood. Apivar for severe infestations.

Prevention

Monthly mite washes from spring through fall. Treat at first sign over threshold (3 mites/100 bees).
