Small Hive Beetle

Symptoms

Small dark beetles running from light, slimed honey, fermenting smell.

Treatment

Oil traps between frames. Maintain strong colonies (weak colonies can't defend). Beetle barn or Beetle Blaster traps.

Prevention

Don't keep equipment near the apiary. Strong colonies + clean apiary = best defense.
