Insulation
Is anyone running an insulated top cover year round? There is no ventilation in a tree, so it should work in a hive, right?

Hey Martin! During the winter I use telescoping covers but the rest of the time I use custom gable roof covers. They let me use 32oz glass jars as feeders.

I use layens condensing hive with insulated tops and hives. No ventilation except the entrance.
